About the Project
All In A Day traces a typical day in 1938 as seen through the eyes of interviewees, then aged between five and 37 years old. This two year Heritage Lottery-funded project provides a snapshot of life on the eve of World War II, before everything changed forever.
The Photos section contains 18 photographs taken in 1938. Clicking on each image will open a larger version in a separate browser window.
The Videos section has seven segments of interviews each of approximately 10 minutes duration. It provides details of what the interviewees were doing at different times throughout the day and at the weekend.
The Schools section contains teachers' notes and downloadable worksheets. It is password protected as it will contain contributions from pupils.
We would like to thank everyone who participated in the project.
